The Gods of Weather Have Smote and Smote and Smote, but The Gods of Vinyl Have Been Very Very Kind

I just got done with the sweet two and a half boxes of near mint promo records from last Monday and was getting jazzed up for the Gold Plated Normal’s Night at the Golden West when a gent pulled in at a quarter to five with a large well constructed record crate (that now resides in my home).  “You want to take a look at these?” he asked slightly mischievously.  “It will take me no time whatsoever, sir.  Just seat yourself on the bench there made of the finest silks and masks once worn by a mad organ player whose face was badly burned in some kind of fire.”

But when I took a gander at the platters my eyes bugged further than Don Knotts’ when he spent a night in the slammer from a reefer charge and he was up all night with over zealous fans of Mayberry with more than just a passion for good hearted Old Southern Surrealism.

Gaze below if you dare!!!!  Once again it’s a batch that’s almost uniformly near mint.  My turntable is dizzy.

And thanks again for everybody who came out to the fantastic show at the Golden West Saturday despite the boggy humidity and desert temps.  Not to mention news of Amy Winehouse going down the route that was all too predictable.  Come on girl, you had a killer voice! Perhaps shit for brains, but…..

And thanks to the great musicians who so kindly lent their skills and spirits to the show to help us continue beyond this, our 21st year:  Asa Osborne and Andy Hayleck, Spacecrafts and Insects (Liz “Many Bands” Downing and Nathan “Gent of the World” Bell), Walker and Jay, poet and bearded one Bob O’Brien and last but not least the chiming sounds of Madagascar.  And many thanks to Thank You who pledged their time but suffered a family emergency.  The three members who weren’t affected still came out and let fans collect their body sweat in golden thimbles though, so thank you Thank You for making the scene.
