More Spoils of the South
Just back from a great trip down South visiting family and hitting all the book and record stores that my wallet and time would allow. A couple highlights: Books Again in Decatur, Georgia and Wuxtry Records in Atlanta. Sadly the much anticipated Low Yo Yo Stuff has moved back to Athens, so I now have to wait until Christmas to wander its vast collection.

Fela - Up Side Down. Near mint on the Celluloid label. Opened, but still in shrink, $12.
Fugs - Tenderness Junction. Very good + original Reprise tri-color label pressing in very good gatefold jacket. Is Herr Allen Ginsberg found somewhere naked on the inner jacket? Why, yes. Yes indeed. $15.00.
Jerry Gonzalez - Ya Yo Me Cure. Near mint American Clave pressing in very good + jacket, $15.00.
Leadbelly - Sings Play-Party Songs Volume I and II. Not how you would usually picture Leadbelly, hanging out entertaining the kids with some tales of drowning and knife fighting. On the Stinson label, near mint, in very good ++ gatefold. $20.

Os Mutantes - Mutantes. Near mint 2008 180 gram pressing in vg+ jacket, $12.00.

Ramones - Something to Believe In/My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg). Near mint 1986 Sire promo 12” in very good + picture sleeve, $15.
Willie Rodriguez with Chuck Sagle and His Orchestra - Anyone Can Play Bongos. Very good + Epic original in vg+ gatefold, $10.
Simone - Gotas D’Agua. Very good + EMI Brazilian 1975 pressing in very good jacket. With original inner lyric sleeve, $15.00. I hadn’t heard of this fellow before finding this album, but he sounds like a missing link to the Tropicalia crew.
